Are you a dog-lover? and a brunch lover? Then your next big, brunch spot on the Upper Westside should definitely be Fred's. Named after a guide dog that was adopted by the owner in the 1990's, Fred was a female black labrador retriever that, judging by the multitude of love notes and pictures of dogs on the walls, is a very loving, caring and popular furry friend in Manhattan.

This is one of my favorite go-to brunch spots on the weekend because it generally doesn't tend to be as crowded and therefore has a much shorter wait than the other Upper Westside brunch spots. Don't take this to mean that the food is no good, because it is delish!

Starting with their strawberry butter and chocolate chip muffins makes your brunch even more comforting as you sit in the warm, wooden paneled pub surrounded by the snouts of many canine friends.

My favorite brunch item is the eggs benedict with their spiced potatoes and fresh, yummy salad. This makes for a filling but healthy brunch. The friendly and trusty staff at Fred's will make you feel right at home and make sure you are well looked after.

So next time you feel like dropping by the Upper Westside for brunch, take a picture of your pooch and leave a loving note for Fred for them to put on the wall while you enjoy a delicious and comforting brunch that only a neighborhood spot like Fred's could deliver.

Happy brunching Yummies!
