Tis the season for all things sweet, cozy and delicious.  Yumology is the best place for you to find the perfect recipe fit to put some pop in your holiday parties, gifts and gatherings. So without further ado - we bring you Season's Eatings, a daily series dedicated to flavoring your holiday tables with all things bright and bubbly.

Our first Season's Eatings recipe comes from one of our own. Yumologist, Colby Rosauer is a professional chef, who's new business venture, The Sammich Truck, is guaranteed to bring the Seattle area some mean, meaty madness when they open up next year. For now, Colby and his wife Kacey (also a professional chef, how'd you like to live under that roof?!) are decking the halls and breaking out their bakeware in order to provide their friends, family and loved ones with a plethora of holiday yummies.

Colby suggests the following Egg Nog Icing recipe as a great go-to for holiday baking. It works on cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and we're betting you could pile it high on some warm apple pie too.

Egg Nog Icing

1 stick of unsalted butter at room temp.
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup Best Eggnog
1/4 tsp fresh granulated nutmeg
Pinch ground cinnamon
Pinch of fine salt


  • Add all of the ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Use an electric mixer and blend together until smooth.
  • Add to piping bag or spread onto the treat of your choice.
