This week the Pittsburgh Steelers v. the Dallas Cowboys and we've got two mighty, meaty chilies ready to go head to head. May the best bowl win!

Pittsburgh Steelers Black & Yellow Bowl

2 tbsp olive oil
2 diced yellow onions
2 lbs ground black angus beef
1 tin of black beans
2 bottles of dark beer
2 cups of Heinz ketchup
1 cup of kernel corn
1/2 tsp salt, pepper, garlic, cumin and chili powder

  • In a large pot add the olive oil, onions, meat and spices. Cook until onions soften.
  • Add the ketchup and stir until the meat is coated.
  • Add the beer and corn and cook for 2-3 hours on low heat.
  • Add the beans and cook for an additional 30 mins.

Dallas Cowboys Texas Roadhouse Chili

1 lb of diced chuck
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 diced jalapeƱo
1 diced habanero
1 tin of diced tomatoes
1/2 cup diced green chilies
1/2 cup diced red pepper
1 tsp minced garlic
2 diced white onions
1/2 tsp salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, coriander
1 bottle of Mexican beer
2 cups chicken stock
1 tin of refried beans

  • Add the olive oil, diced beef and onions to the bottom of a large pot and cook until the onions are soft.
  • Add the rest of the diced veggies and tomato paste. Cook until veggies soften and are well coated.
  • Add the spices and stir.
  • Add the Mexican beer and stir.
  • Add the refried beans and stir until the beans melt into the chili.
  • Add the chicken stock until chili reaches desired consistency.
