While the opinions on the closing of Hostess range from "we're better off without them," to "the end of an American icon," people seem to agree on one thing, Hostess was indeed a lunchbox staple for us children of the 80s.

While the calorie-ridden, sugar-laden, fat-filled desserts are today banned in many school vending machines, many of us remember what it felt like to finish our turkey sandwich and juice box only to indulge in the creamy sugary goodness of a freshly unwrapped Twinkie.

As we bid a fond farewell to the flavors of our childhood I feel it only fitting to bring you a parade of hostess MVPs whom, despite the carbs, will indeed be missed.

(We imagine Boyz II Men's Yesterday playing in the background.)
