Our Editor-in-Chief celebrated her birthday in Vail, CO this year and she brought back a few goodies for our Yumologists to taste and share with our yummy followers.

Alpine Avocado Vinaigrette

Do you like guacamole? Do you really like guacamole? Would you put guacamole on your salad? What if someone told you there was a salad dressing that tasted exactly like guacamole, and it was made from wholesome, natural ingredients? Too goo to be true? Not for those clever Yumologists at Alpine Avocado.

Alpine Avocado Vinaigrette is made with 100% virgin olive oil, rice wine vinegar, fresh avocado, fresh green onions, fresh garlic, salt and sugar. It's gluten free, dairy free, cholesterol free and 100% natural.

Bottles of your own avocado goodness can be purchased on their website at www.alpineavocado.com.

Batter Cupcakes

Fans of the Food Network's Cupcake Wars might remember the name Batter Cupcakes from one of the more recent episodes. Batter Cupcakes is a Vail based cupcake catering company that specializes in hand-piped, gourmet cupcakes for special occasions.

Our Yumologists purchased a variety of flavors to enjoy during our trip. Matcha Green Tea, Tuxedo, Chocolate Covered Strawberry and Key Lime. All were delicious but the Matcha Green Tea was a unique and welcomed surprise. Matcha green tea cake, stuffed with jasmine infused cream, sweetened with Colorado honey and topped with green tea buttercream. We're drooling just thinking about it!

Owner of Batter Cupcakes, Liz Rackoff has been baking her entire life. She began Batter Cupcakes five years ago and hasn't stepped away from the oven since. Liz can often be seen at the Vail Farmers Market mingling with fellow foodies and making sure everyone has enough Batter to go around.

Colorado Cherry Company

A weekend in the mountains wouldn't be complete without a big, tall glass of cider. While apple has tended to be the most traditional, we met a band of Colorado based Yumologists who took their cider to a whole new fruity level.

The Colorado Cherry Company is a family-owned business that specializes in bottling all-natural, fresh ingredient ciders. Cherry tends to be their most popular flavor but others include Blackbeary, Strawbeary, Raspbeary and Peach.

Our Yumologists were particularly fond of the Blackbeary Cider. After a long day of huffing it through a crowded Farmers Market, the friendly faces and tall glasses at the Colorado Cherry Company tent were a sight for sore eyes.

Thanks to Vail, CO for an excellent weekend. We made lots of delicious new friends and have a ton of yummy new products to play with!
